About Martin Visser

Martin Visser (1922-2009) was a renowned Dutch furniture and interior designer, as well as a prominent figure in the field of modernist design. He was born on June 24, 1922, in Papendrecht, Netherlands.

Visser's interest in design and craftsmanship developed at an early age, leading him to pursue formal education in the field. He studied interior design at the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheidsonderwijs (now known as the Gerrit Rietveld Academie) in Amsterdam from 1941 to 1943. During this time, he was greatly influenced by the principles of the De Stijl movement, which emphasized simplicity, geometric forms, and the use of primary colors.
