In 1941, Florence Schust married Hans Knoll, a German immigrant who had established the Hans G. Knoll Furniture Company in New York. Together, they formed Knoll Associates, a company that would become synonymous with modern design and innovation. Florence Knoll's keen eye for design and her understanding of architecture played a pivotal role in the success of the company.
