Louis XV
Also known as Louis Quinze, was a style popularized by King Louis XV of France. The Sun King reigned in France between 1715 and 1774. The furniture style from this period is similar to Rococo with soft, flowing lines, shell and flower ornamentation, S-curves, rich padded upholstery, rare wood veneers, inlaying and painted furniture.
Fresco
Fresco is the technique of painting on plaster. Fresco art is commonly associated with the Italian Renaissance, but the painting technique is still used by muralists today. Fresco painting is considered highly durable which makes it a popular choice amongst painters. Some notable masterpieces made with fresco art are the Roman wall paintings of Pompeii and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling.
