The subject is Infanta Maria Luisa of Naples, daughter of King Charles and Queen Maria Amelia of Naples-Sicily, who later became the King and Queen of Spain. Maria Luisa went on to become the Grand Duchess Consort of Tuscany after her marriage. The original portrait was created in 1764 by Anton Raphael Mengs, the court painter, at the time of her marriage. (Signed A. Bergner).
