About Salvador Teran

Salvador Teran (1920-1974) was a renowned Mexican artist and designer known for his exceptional work in the field of furniture and decorative arts. Born on October 5, 1920, in Taxco, Mexico, Teran displayed a passion for art from a young age.

Teran's interest in design and craftsmanship led him to study at the School of Arts and Crafts in Taxco, where he honed his skills in metalworking and silver jewelry making. He was greatly influenced by the rich artistic traditions of his hometown, which was renowned for its silver mines and skilled artisans.

In the 1940s, Teran began working at the William Spratling Silver Workshop, where he further refined his craft and developed a deep understanding of traditional Mexican design aesthetics. During this time, he
