About Gaetano Sciolari

Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) was an Italian furniture and lighting designer, known for his innovative and modernist designs. Born on February 25, 1927, in Rome, Italy, Sciolari came from a family of lighting manufacturers, which greatly influenced his career path.

Sciolari studied architecture at the University of Rome, where he developed a deep understanding of design principles and aesthetics. He quickly gained recognition for his unique approach to furniture and lighting design, combining functionality with artistic expression.

In the 1950s, Sciolari founded his own design studio and began creating his signature pieces. His designs were characterized by clean lines, geometric shapes, and the use of high-quality materials such as brass, chrome, and glass.
